Over the last 16 years of my career, I have developed strong working relationships with the various Ministries’ of Health (MOH) in the Middle East and thus consolidated my presence as a seasoned pharmaceutical regulatory affairs professional in the region. I have completed my B. Pharm in 2002 from Dubai Pharmacy college and Master of Science in EU Regulatory affairs from KREMS , Vienna University and MBA from Preston University. .In 2013, I co-founded Professional Regulatory Affairs (PRA), a leading healthcare regulatory consultancy in the Middle East. To further uphold the ethics and compliance standards within the industry, I also persevered with Dubai Pharmacy College, industry experts and authorities to set up the GCC Regulatory Affairs (RA) Course, a first-of-its-kind certification, which educates graduates and professionals on the new career advancements and opportunities in this sector to become industry experts. My true passion lies in helping authorities to find solutions and apply policies and regulations, which will lead to better health and safety within the regional communities. I have been instrumental in launching the GCC Regulatory Affairs Pharma Summit in 2015 and running it successfully for the last five years in Dubai. I also launched PHARMA REG AFRI summit , MEVAS and ACRAS summits in the region . I am advisory board member with Dubai Pharmacy College and a member with the Women’s’ Business Council at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce I have been recently elected as a board member at Emirates Medical Association - Pharmacy chapter
After receiving my B.Pharm in 2011, I pursued a PhD in Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth in the UK, where I graduated in 2016. I returned to Malaysia promptly to begin working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) and complete a post-doctoral fellowship with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) before joining Al Ain University (UAE) in early 2018. In 2022, I was promoted to Associate Professor and appointed as the Program Director for Pharmaceutical Sciences program at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi campus). My main area of interest in terms of research has been drug delivery methods, notably nanotechnology. Despite being active in the quiet and away from the spotlight research life, I always strive to look for opportunities to participate in inspirational and motivational events.
Worked with Dubai Municipality for over 16 years in which 2 years worked at Dubai Municipality Clinic as Safety Officer then held the position of "manager of consumer products safety section" in 2008, and " director, of Health & Safety department" since 2019. and during which, developed & managed the operations of many important programs in the feild that have a strategic impact on both Dubai & Municipality strategic plan such as registration of different categories of consumer products (e.g. Health Supplements, cosmetics and personal care products , fragrances , disinfectants, biocides and recently Toys, food contact material and textile being added ), in addition to the related programs as field inspection and ports control for the imported consignments , and other health and safety related activities managed Covid-19 crisis committee in alignment with Dubai supreme committee of crisis & disaster management to contain crisis and support UAE, Dubai economy and recovery, managed National Disinfection Program in Dubai, and conduct a comprehensive control program for the related establishments and activities in Dubai to ensure their compliance with the precautionary measures obtaining international related standards , e.g. ISO/PAS 45005:2020 certificate for DM during 2021 as first global municipality for the scope of COVID-19 aspects management system, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems, ISO 17020:2021 requirements for operation of various types of bodies performing inspection As a member, in high level federal and local government committees, participated for evaluation of Health and safety, and consumer products, related policies regulations and safety Represented Dubai Municipality in a number of international and national conferences & seminars by presenting papers in the different related fields, Published papers on the risks of consumer products and service quality in reputable journals. I joined Dubai police in 2017 so I have five-year experience working in the laboratory. In 2020 I got Dubai Police Commander Award. 1st Place, for the Best Employee in the youth category. I received my Bachelor degree in pharmacy from the Higher Colleges of Technology – Dubai Women’s College in 2016 and I got awarded certificate for high GPA-3.67 (Distinction). I got many practical trainings in Dubai Health Authority Clinics, Dubai Health Authority hospitals, in addition to private clinics.

I have 18 years of national and international experiences, working in the government sector, pharmaceutical sector and in various projects with international organizations. This was further enabled by earning a master’s in business administration in healthcare management form Loyola university, Chicago USA. Currently as the government affairs director for the gulf region, my focus is to ensure holistic partnership with governments towards progressive policymaking. In my previous global roles, I have worked to ensure that clinical development plans address global unmet healthcare needs and create access for innovative pharmaceutical products along the clinical development journey
Dr. Saba Khan has a decade of experience in Quality of Supply chain and logistics. She holds a double master’s degree in business administration and healthcare quality. She graduated from Dubai pharmacy college and is part of the prestigious advisory board of DPC. She pursued her career in Dubai health authority as a hospital pharmacist and contributed to the success of JCIA implementation in the first hospital of UAE. She then took a brave step towards mainstream quality and supply chain. She is ISO 9001, ISO 22301, ISO 13485 and 27001 certified. Some of her hobbies include music and reading.
Samia currently serves as the Director of External Affairs, Policy, Patient Engagement & Communications at MSD GCC. She joined the company in August 2021 to lead to drive its external affairs function throughout the region. A highly experienced and accomplished communications professional, Samia provides counsel on external affairs with an in-depth understanding of the key business imperatives facing the company and the value of strategic communications in achieving the company’s business objectives. Integral to the company’s reputation management, Samia develops media training programs, formulates key messages, and plans and implements an array of strategic communication initiatives for MSD across key markets in the GCC. Before joining MSD, Samia served as the Area PR and Communications Lead for Allergan in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) where she led Allergan’s internal and external communications across several practices, including public affairs, social and digital communications, CSR, patient advocacy group relationships, and crisis communications. Samia’s career has seen her focus on private, government and NGO programmes, leading teams to implement ROI-driven communications strategies for both profit and NPO organisations. Samia formerly served as GlaxoSmithKline’s regulatory and communications specialist for the Middle East and CIS regions, where she developed new digital communications platforms and channels to deliver functional priorities. From January 2005 until June 2013, she worked with KMP Pharmaceutical, where she was appointed to posts that included Pharmacist in Charge, Regulatory and Research & Development Assistant, as well as Head of Quality Control and Regulatory for the Levant region. Samia graduated from the University of Jordan with a degree in Pharmacy. She holds an Executive MBA from Bradford University, School of Management in the United Kingdom, as well as a diploma in bio pharmacy from The Martin Luther University of Halle Wittenberg, Germany. She is fluent in English, Arabic and French.
Zeineb is a Biochemical Engineer graduated from an engineering school in France. She has more than seven years of work experience in the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector. She started her career working for Pierre Fabre Medicament in Tunisia in the quality control laboratory. Then, she had the opportunity to join the faculty of medicine of Leipzig in Germany to study a membrane receptor using various biochemical techniques. Her last professional experience was for a consulting company, Capgemini Engineering. She had supported several laboratories (Sanofi, Sanofi Pasteur, GSK, etc.) by providing consulting services especially in the fields of Sales, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs. Zeineb is responsible for all Commercial and Technical positions within the Healthcare and Life Science sectors across the Middle East.

Prof. Mohammad Ghattas got his pharmacy degree in 2006 when he was only 20 years old and then, in 2011, he got his PhD from The University of Manchester in the field of drug design and discovery. He pursued his academic career in Al Zaytoonah University (Jordan) then in Al Ain University where he got promoted several times to finally become in charge of the college of pharmacy – Abu Dhabi Campus (in 2018). Very recently, he got the highest rank in academia after being successfully promoted from “Associate Professor” to “Full Professor”. Prof. Ghattas has successfully published more than 40 scientific papers and abstracts in widely respected journals and international conferences. Moreover, he has won two research-funding grants (=780,000 AED) along with several prizes (e.g. Distinguished Researcher Award, at AAU), and he is now member in the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK). Beside his academic career, Prof. Ghattas is famously known among his peers and students for his motivational character and his unique style of leadership. Dr Feras Jirjees, BSc (pharmacy), M.Pharm, and PhD, is a pharmacy graduate and working in academia for more than 10 years, proceeded his PhD degree in pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast, UK. He worked as a research fellow in UK and a lecturer at the University of Sharjah. He is currently working as an assistant professor in the department of pharmacy practice and pharmacotherapeutics, College of Pharmacy, University of Sharjah. His research interests are medication adherence, application of new technologies in the chronic diseases management, medications effectiveness evaluation, green pharmacy, self-treatment, and pharmacy education. Muna Al Safi is section head for records and data scientific evidence analysis at the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. Her current role involves utilizing real-world data to generate insights and evidence that help inform health policy decisions, improve quality of care, clinical outcomes, and patient safety. She has more than ten years of experience in Abu Dhabi healthcare system including provider and regulator experience. Muna worked in pharmacovigilance in drugs and medical products regulation at the department of health Abu Dhabi for the past 6 years. She also has pharmacy and clinical experience in SEHA hospitals. Muna graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Sharjah and completed her Doctor of Pharmacy from UAE University. Dr. Heba is an experienced pharmacy educator with almost 15 years hands-on experience in multiple roles within higher education institutes.
